Issues

Imagine going to the doctor without worrying about the cost.

Imagine living near friends and family, because no one is priced out of your city.

Imagine driving down well paved roads in cities not starved for funds.

Imagine giving your kids water straight from the tap with no concern for lead poisoning.

Imagine everyone you know having a job — only one job, with plenty of time for friends and family.
Imagine knowing that your kids will get a great education no matter what school they go to.

No matter who you are, we all want dignified work, clean water, affordable housing, paved roads, and good schools for our kids. We can have this here in Massachusetts. It’s not too much to ask. It’s up to us to elect people to the State House who will fight for working families.

- Good Paying Local Union Jobs

We are in the worst economic crisis in 100 years, with hundreds of thousands of people out of work. Massachusetts can provide good paying, union jobs for everyone who needs one, while doing the necessary work to avert climate crises.

- Fix Our Broken State House

We must change the broken culture of backroom deals, careerism, and retaliation by leadership at the State House, and return power to the people. To this end, we support decentralizing the power held by the Speaker of the House, and increasing transparency so we can see how our representatives vote.

- Green New Deal

Climate change is the greatest collective threat we face. We’ll fight to transition Massachusetts to 100% renewable energy while ensuring environmental justice in the siting of facilities and in compensating communities historically and currently impacted.

- Medicare for All

The US is the only major nation on earth not to provide healthcare as a human right. A public, single-payer healthcare program will give every Bay Stater quality, affordable medical care and be cheaper both for our residents and our state.

- Housing for All

The cost of housing is skyrocketing in Massachusetts, displacing people and increasing homelessness. We believe that housing is a human right and that private market solutions are insufficient to solve our current housing crisis. We support programs and policies that make structural changes such as social housing, rent control, and land trusts.

- Progressive Taxation

Massachusetts’ 20 billionaires increased their wealth by over $17 billion during the pandemic. It’s time for the wealthy and big corporations to pay their fair share. By taxing the rich, we can fund our schools, invest in our communities, and save the T.

- Public Transit

Public transit in the Bay State is under siege. Robust and equitable public transit is essential to ensuring the mobility of all and a green future. We support expanding all forms of mass transit including rapid transit, commuter rail, and buses in all corners of the Commonwealth, as well as biking infrastructure.

- Safe Communities

We are committed to ensuring that no one in Massachusetts lives in fear, and everyone’s civil rights will be respected. In solidarity with immigrant rights and racial justice groups, we support the Safe Communities Act and drivers licenses for all.

- Criminal Justice Reform

Despite Massachusetts’ progressive reputation, the Commonwealth has more than double the incarceration rate of the UK and almost three times that of Canada. We will prioritize reforming our criminal justice system by demilitarizing the police, ending the school-to-prison pipeline, eliminating cash bail, and investing in our communities.

- Money Out of Politics

We support publicly financed elections to get money out of politics. Our representatives should never be obligated to powerful special interests, but rather work consistently for the people they represent and the good of the Commonwealth.

- Fully Funded Public Education

The quality of our next generation’s education should not depend on their family’s income or zip code. It’s time we guaranteed high quality free public pre-K to higher education, as well as technical education. We will also work to end the punitive and damaging practice of high stakes testing such as MCAS.

- Our Rights Are Human Rights

Every resident of Massachusetts deserves a life of dignity and opportunity. This includes LGBTQ+, immigrant, BIPOC, disabled, women, and all other people.
